Fall Morning Skincare Routine
I'm switching up my morning skincare routine. This is what I am doing now.
It Cosmetics Miracle Water 3-in-1 Glow Tonic
At its core, it is a micellar water. But like all It Cosmetics products, it has antiaging skincare ingredients. It’s got lots of great claims, but I’ve only had it for a week, so I can’t speak to any of that. At the very least, it’s a great micellar water that I use first thing in the morning. Because I have such an intense evening skincare routine, I don’t need to wash my face in the morning. But a few swipes of the miracle water (used on Shiseido Facial Cottons) is enough AM cleansing for me.
NuFace Mini Facial Toning Device and Gel Primer
I’ve been using the NuFace for about nine months now, and I really like it. I may do a full review on it in the future, but suffice to say that it makes enough of a difference that I am willing to spend the 5 minutes a day 5-6 times a weekday using it. The primer is necessary and a bit thick. Over the summer, I used aloe vera gel and it seemed to work just fine. I may splurge and get their 24 karat gel since it claims to firm the skin. Yes, please!
Now, I don’t always take the time to use a mask in the morning, but if I do, it is one of these three:
Belborn 5 Minute Miracle Mask
I’ve talked about this mask before, so I won’t bore you, but if you were up a bit too late the night before, this mask is magic. You need to make sure to let all the essence absorb, or if you don’t have time, rinse your face and continue with your routine, or else it may pill.
Charlotte Tilbury Revolutionary Instant Magic Facial Dry Sheet Mask
Ok, this is expensive, I know! But I use it differently than they suggest, so it lasts a bit longer. I got the idea from Charlotte in one of her videos where she says when she is doing runaway makeup, she’ll use the masks for 5 minutes as a base skin treatment for the models. So, I also use it for five minutes and then use it for a total of 15 times.
Savannah Bee White Hibiscus Royal Jelly Facial Mask Infuser
It is not pictured, but it is very similar to the Charlotte Tilbury dry mask. I don’t notice quite the “umph” that the CT mask has, but it does add a little something-something (yes, I know, very technical terms). This one can be used up to 5 times for 15 minutes, or 15 times for 5 minutes.
Too Faced Lip Injection Extreme
The first few times I used this, not only did my lips look plump, but there was a noticeable redness on my skin all around my lips. Not the best look ever. But the formula totally made my lips look plumped, so I concealed the heck out of my chin and upper lip and went about my life. About a week later, my skin adjusted, and no more redness…just plumping. I’ve tried a few other products like this, but so far, this one works the best.
Deciem Hylamide SubQ Anti-Age
As much fun as it is to layer 24 different products from The Ordinary (yes, a bit hyperbolic bit if you read previous posts, you’ll understand), I saw this at CVS and bought it. Way to go, CVS. They’re really stepping up their skincare products. Now, I use this in lieu of nearly all my other The Ordinary serums in the morning, and I like it just as much.
The Ordinary EUK
Another new product from The Ordinary, this one is a regenerating formula of antioxidants which protect the skin by limiting skin-damaging free radicals. I’ve only been using it for two weeks, so I can’t promise it’s a miracle product, but I do like it so far.
The Ordinary Caffeine 5%
Been using this product since the skincare line launched, and I like it. They have a newer version that also has green tea extract, so I will be purchasing that soon.
SuperGoop! City Sunscreen Serum
I’ve been using this serum for about six months and I really like it. It’s a great, lightweight sunscreen with UVA and UVB protection with SPF 30 that plays nicely with all my other skincare and makeup products. It also includes skincare benefits such as vitamins E and B5. Love it so much, I already have a backup on hand!
Drunk Elephant LaLa Retro Whipped Cream
This is a super recent discovery and I may be in love. This was a deluxe sample I had for a while but just started using it a few days ago. So, not holy grail status yet, but stay tuned.
Belif Miracle Revital Eye Cream
I bought this back in in February, and it’s not bad. I’m determined to use it up, but I won’t be repurchasing it. It has not reduced any wrinkles and in fact, it hasn’t even prevented a new one from appearing. Sad day. But, I tried the Murad Eye Lift Firming Treatment for the first time this morning and have noticeably fewer eye wrinkles after one use. Super excited to continue testing this product out. You’ll hear more about it in the future.
So, that’s it for my morning skincare routine. Have a great day.
