Fall Evening Skincare Routine
I switched up my fall skincare routine with some new and some old products. And, overall, I’ve been loving my skin recently. So, I thought I would share what I am doing.
Hylamide SubQ Anti-Age
This serum is my first step after my evening cleansing routine, unless I use a sheet mask. If I do, which I try to five times a week, then I skip this step as the mask essence is enough to provide hydration. This is a nice mixture of hyaluronic acid, Matrixl, and Copper Lysinate which help to hydrate, plump, and improve skin’s texture. I’ll be finishing my bottle up this week and don’t intend on repurchasing it, but rather try a new product from my stash.
Hylamide SubQ Eyes
This step is a newer addition to my routine. I usually used just an eye cream, but felt it was time to add an eye serum to my eye cream. I’m not terribly impressed, although my expectations are probably a bit high. I’ll finish the bottle, and go on to a new product.
Kiehl's Midnight Recovery Eye
This cream was a sample I received, and I really like it so far. I like it better than my current eye cream, the Belif Peat Miracle Revital Eye Cream. Not sure, though, that I will purchase the full size because I am drowning in samples and I am trying to get through some!
The Ordinary Granactive Retinoid 5%
I LOVE THIS! LOVE, LOVE, LOVE, LOVE, LOOOOOVE!!! First, I really liked the Advanced Retinoid 2% from The Ordinary and have purchased a few bottles of that over the past year, so I was excited when they introduced a 5% version. Second, I love squalene. Squalene is a hydrator that aids in keeping the skin supple. Together, they are amazing. I have now more than doubled the amount of retinoid – previously it was 2% - I have been using but haven’t had any negative reaction and I think the squalene has something to do with that. So, what exactly is Granactive Retinoid supposed to do? According to their site, “This water-free solution contains a 5% concentration of an advanced retinoid active complex called Granactive Retinoid that has been shown to offer better results against multiple signs of ageing than retinol without any of the irritation and drawbacks common with retinol. Granactive Retinoid, an active technology from Grant Industries, is a solubilized system of Hydroxypinacolone Retinoate, a highly-advanced form of retinoid which is, in fact, a non-prescription ester of all-trans direct retinoic acid that offers a multi-fold better effect against signs of ageing than retinol, retinyl palmitate and nearly all other forms of non-prescription retinoid. Younger looking and more even skin tone? Yes, please!
CeraVe Skin Renewing Cream Serum
This serum was a recommendation from a beauty guru that she said was great for lessening the appearance of wrinkles, especially on the neck. I really haven’t noticed a difference yet, but I will continue to use until I have finished the tube. Who knows, maybe it will become magical with more use!
The Ordinary 100% Organic Cold-pressed Rose Hip Seed Oil and 100% Cold-pressed Virgin Marula Oil
I stopped using oils for a while, and after being back on them for a month now, I have no idea why I stopped! Ok, let’s be honest – I was being lazy. But I have seen the error of my ways and I am back using it nightly. I posted a blog a few months back on facial oils, so I won’t bore you with the many benefits of oils here. Suffice to say, I use Rose Hip Seed Oil because it is intensely nourishing and aids in improving texture, tone, firmness, skin regeneration, and inflammation. Marula oil is rich in antioxidants and adds hydration and radiance to the skin. I mix a few drops of each as my last evening skincare step. Depending on my mood, I may add a layer of The Ordinary Natural Moisturizing Factors +HA before the oils.
I've been using Latisse fairly regularly since March and I really love the results. I have gotten so many compliments on them and questions asking if I have extensions. Sadly, I am nearly out of this container, so I will either be repurchasing this same brand or trying another lash serum. But bottom line, I am addicted to lash serum!
Laneige Lip Sleeping Mask - LOVE! I have talked about this a few times in other posts and on Instagram, but I had to include it here. I use this before bed (and throughout the day) and wake up with hydrated lips. This is an absolute must!!!
So, there ya have it. Hope you found it helpful. What are your evening skincare must-haves?
