Top Skin Perfecting Products of 2017
Because I’ve been taking such good care of my skin (cue happy dance), I find myself moving away from heavier foundations and opting for lighter coverage. Here are some of the products that help me even out my skin rather than cover it up with full-coverage foundation.
Charlotte Tilbury’s Light Wonder
This is an easy foundation that applies quickly and lasts all day. It evens out my skin, which is really all I am looking for these days. I always use SuperGoop’s City Sunscreen Serum SPF 30 and Charlotte Tilbury’s WonderGlow before using this foundation.
IT Cosmetics’ Your Skin But Better CC+ Illuminating Cream with SPF 30
This product took me a while to figure out. I originally purchased the matte formula but found that it looked like a medium coverage foundation laying on the top of my skin rather than enhancing and evening out my skin. Then, I discovered the Illuminating formula and found that it worked much better. In general, it is still a bit thick for my liking, so I add a drop of facial oil to it which helps the product better blend into my skin.
Tatcha’s Gold Camellia Beauty Oil
A drop of this beautiful oil is the secret to getting nearly any foundation to look flawless on your skin both nourishing it and making it look more radiant. Now, who wouldn’t want that?! (PS – could another facial oil accomplish a similar result? Yes. Here is a much less expensive option.)
IT Cosmetics’ Bye-Bye Redness Neutralizing Cream
I have redness around the center of my face – nose, cheeks, etc. The problem with using lighter coverage foundation is that it doesn’t always cover up that dreaded redness. Enter Bye-Bye Redness Cream. I mix this with a bit of the foundation I am using and apply it to the center of my face as a second layer of foundation. It covers the redness without looking like I am wearing thick foundation. YAY!
Tarte’s Shape Tape Contour Concealer
No doubt you’ve hear enough about this product, so I won’t bore you again with its accolades. I have it in two colors to use as either a concealer or extra coverage where needed.
Maybelline’s Instant Age Rewind Eraser Dark Circle Treatment Concealer
This has been a year-long favorite for me, and I have it in multiple colors depending on where I need to use it. I reviewed it more fully here.
